Topic: One HDSPe AES and Two ADI-8 QS

Hi All

Bored from latency, oversampling, stability ....... of others outboard finally i' m arrived to RME !

I' m going to by one HDSPe AES and Two ADI-8 QS. I was oriented in past toward HDSPe and two Octamic II...... but is not a perfect solution using a analog summing device ( I m not sure for the quality of DA conversion of Octamic II Out) Dont you??

So The question : The project is to use the ADI-8 for direct monitoring during records through HDSPe AES aes ebu out ,
but in "mastering mode" I will use the ADI-8 only like a DA converter to bring the signals
to a analog summing outboard ( SPL Mixdream for example ).
The stereo Mix is Send to a stereo AD converter and finally into a CD/DVD recorder.

What do you think of this setup ??

Excuse me for my not perfect english

Hi-z

Re: One HDSPe AES and Two ADI-8 QS

I m not sure for the quality of DA conversion of Octamic II Out

Octamic II has no D/A at all.

So the QS is a good decision. You could use it for A/D-Conversion behind the MixDream too.

Re: One HDSPe AES and Two ADI-8 QS

Of course !!

But i like very much rosetta 200 and "coda". It' s a good way to maximize a stereo signal before recording it.
However i can do the same with a analog mastering compressor after mixdream and the same QS.
Choices ..........i will think on it.......
