Topic: RME 9632 silent driver error

Hi

I was working perfect with the 9632 drivers 4.0.6 and Cubase Pro 8.0.20 in Win 7 64 SP 1 updated.
I began to have audio drop outs and noises but nothing important i believed.
Gone diner and after back and turn on the pc,Cubase was silent with no signal in the meters. The card appears in Cubase.
I checked with Arturia's Mini V standalone and it reported a driver error audio device unable to start and was unable to load the 9632.
I tried to re-install the driver and despite was successful and appears ok at device manager, the 9632 still not working.
I send digital audio to the 9632 and the card received it and produced sound correctly.
I tried reload the firmware 154 and it didn't help.
I installed the new 4.0.9 drivers and the 9632 still not working.
It seems that the driver stopped working somehow.
The only new thing that did recently was the Nvidia GForce 8400gs video card driver update 341.44.

Any ideas?

TIA

Re: RME 9632 silent driver error

Sounds unlikely with the info you already provided above, but is there any chance your default sound device reverted to HDMI in tandem with the Nvidia driver update?  I experience this often with my AMD card and driver updates (with an HDMI connection for an extended desktop that appears as an Audio Device).  However, I don't believe this has any effect on DAW apps that use ASIO...

I've also noticed with 4.07 range of RME drivers that the RME's DSP Settings SAMPLERATE must be set manually to the proper rate for any apps that attempt to initialize the ASIO driver:

Example: IK Amplitube will not initialize the RME ASIO Driver if Amplitube is looking for a 44.1K rate but the RME Card is running at 48K Internal rate.  I believe this behavior was revised in driver 4.10 (that was pulled due to Vista/XP installation issues)?

All I got smile  Good luck! cool

Re: RME 9632 silent driver error

Hi Randyman...

You solved my issue thank you!

The curious thing was that the 9632 showed 44.1 rate so I switch it to 48 and opened Arturia Mini V and the Mini V reset the 9632 to the 44.1 and accepted the driver.

Everything is perfect now.

Thank you again

Best Regards
