Topic: Different gain levels in matrix and mixer view

Hello,

I am facing a strange behaviour of TotalMix FX. As I am new to this software, I am not sure, if this is a bug or intentional.

I created submixes for to two headphones and a pair of speakers. All the inputs and the software return of my daw are routed to the headphones, while the monitors are feeded by the software return only. As you can see, the gain of the inputs are set to 0dB in both headphone submixes within the mixer view.

If I switch to the matrix view, the gain of all inputs are set to -3dB. Please take a look at the next picture.

Shouldn't those parameters be the same, as the mixer and the matrix are just different visualisations of the same thing?

I am using TotalMix FX 1.12 with WIN7x64 and a FireFace 800.

Thanks for any advice in advance.
Michael

Re: Different gain levels in matrix and mixer view

You overlooked the panorama function and what it does to a signal when in center position.
