Topic: TRS or TS cable to connect AO4S to unbalanced hardware?

I need to patch an AO4S output to an unbalanced 1/4" jack on a PSA Sansamp rackmount amp simulator.
I've RTFM'd and saw the warning about making this type of connection, but still I don't understand which cable should be used -- a 1/4" TRS or a 1/4" mono cable?  Something else?  Thanks!

You need a special cable where the ring contact is not connected. Using a mono cable will short the ring contact of the socket to ground. Using a stereo (balanced patch) cable might work, as long as the input jack of the unbalanced receiver will not shorten the ring contact to ground. Would be easy to check if you have an Ohm meter.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't have an Ohm meter.  Would it work to use a TRS cable with the R manually disconnected?
Just to confirm, I should not plug a mono cable into the AO4S outputs -- correct?
