Topic: UFX+ DURec

Very excited by the new UFX+ !
In the release notes there are some notes on the new DURec capabilities:
"An internal Realtime Clock (RTC) delivers time-stamped files"
Does this mean that the recorded files can be time-stamped with an external time code source, or just an internal counter?
Recording a WAV file time-stamped to an external time code source would be ideal.

Many thanks

Re: UFX+ DURec

This is a simple internal clock, so writing a file this file will get the actual date and time when the recording happened.

Re: UFX+ DURec

MC,  This holds so many great possibilities for me as well.  Is there any approximate availability date in the US for the UFX+.
( Great job on the video, by the way!)

Re: UFX+ DURec

Does anyone know of a simple way to timestamp BWAV files with LTC recorded on a separate track?
As the UFX+ will only timestamp the recorded files with an internal clock, it would be great to have them stamped with the info from an external LTC.
This LTC could be recorded onto one of the tracks, so I was wondering if there was any software that could read the LTC from one track and use it to timestamp the other tracks. Some sort of batch conversion from a polywavfile - or separate WAV files- would be ideal.

Many thanks

Adam

Re: UFX+ DURec

I use Sequoia for this. Sequoia is able to read the recorded LTC. You can then place the objects to their TC, set a new "Original position" and write this info into the BWF header.

Re: UFX+ DURec

With REAPER you can arm one track as a timecode and then slave the whole recording session to this. Result will be that the recording happens directly at the correct position.
