But in any case looking now at that section in the manual (specifically I'm looking at the FireFace UFX III manual)
You should use the manual for your unit, as they differ for each unit.
I saw in your other posts you use a UCX? -> if so, use the ufx manual.

seems a bit lacking. For instance I can't see the (very helpful) table you shared on the previous reply.
Nothing is lacking. You cant see "the table" because it does not exist there (And it is not necessary).
I created the table for my own purposes long time ago (when I was leraning )
F.ex: This information from manual is absolutely sufficent, to create the table for selecting submixes (yellow lines in my other post):
Select submix (fader) in third row:
- channel 1/2: BC 68/69 xx
- channel 3/4: BC 6A/6B xx
etc.

does anyone know what MIDI CC controls the fx faders on each channel (the little "mini-faders" on the right of the big faders)
Not possible to control them direcly via MIDI. But:
1) You could youse the trim function for this - here the FX Send/Return would raise/fall in combination with the volume fader.
2) If possible, you could use OSC instead of MIDI to control them directly ("via page2")

individual solo and mute buttons on each channels
You need to enable the "Enable Mackie Protocol Support" Checkbox. I recommend to enable a 2nd Controller in TM for this.
Then you can use simple Note Messages for this. I also recommend to get familar with Mackie Protocol in general.
I posted some links about this, in my older posts in this thread.

My Tipp: Read (and understand) the manual for your unit carefully. All information is in there...
Play around, experiment with the settings and you will see: The concept makes sense.
