Topic: Send Signal From One Application to AN 3/4 instead of AN 1/2

Hi.

I'm having really hard time to switch to the OSX. I'm not sure if the problem is related to OSX or TotalMix so exuse me if this is not related to TotalMix.

I found that all applications and operating system sounds goes thru AN 1/2 Software Playback. Is there any way that I can select from my application level that for example Signal from Safari browser can go thru AN 3/4 so I can later setup routing that I can hear Safari only in my headphones.

I know that I can use software called Loopback to create device with source application Safari but I can't setup this device that it's output is going to AN 3/4. I only have option to select Fireface 400 without option to select AN 3/4.

Can somebody tell me how to do this? I think this is related to some basics that I don't understand.

Browsers usually don't support multichannel sound cards plus output selection. They use the system device (and that's the same under Windows). You can change that one in the Audio MIDI Setup, but then for all programs.

Thank You for the answer. I made it with software called Audio HiJack for OSX. It helps me split main system output for 2 separate stereo signals and route one to AN 1/2 (default one on device) and the second one to left channel 3 and right channel 4 so I'm able to have separate signal path for my headphones and for speakers and now it is easy to make A/B comparsions for different crossfeed plugins for headphones.

The Audio HiJack also allows You to put Audio Unit Effect plugins along the signal path so before it enters to the output.

My advice use Audio HiJack software.
