Topic: LED feedback with protocol support disabled?

I'm trying to do something very simple which is to configure an encoder of my BCR2000 to control the Main fader. It's working great but the encoder LEDs don't update when I drag the fader in TotalMix FX, in fact TotalMix FX isn't transmitting any MIDI at all unless I tick the box "Enable Protocol Support".

Do I need to configure my BCR2000 to impersonate the Mackie Control Univeral or is there a way to get this to work using simple CC messages? Thanks in advance

Re: LED feedback with protocol support disabled?

I can get LED feedback on my BCR2000 (note: BCF2000) by emulating MCU messages. The problem with the BCR is that it sends Pitch Bend values 1-127 (not 0-127!). This means faders in TotalMix can never be moved to -Inf or +6dB using the BCR2000 encoders.

In this case TotalMix is doing the right thing, and this is definitely the BCR2000's problem. But if LED feedback were also possible with normal CC messages, the BCR2000 would work OK since it can send CC values 0-127.
