Topic: Total mix full mode vs digital audio workstation mode (latency)

I am using Ableton as a host for running VST effects plugins on a computer dedicated for only this purpose. My HDSP9652 is routed through an 8 channel AD/DA with it's I/Os routed to a hardware mixer for vocal processing etc.
I have been experimenting with running Total Mix in full mode and digital audio workstation mode. My question is which mode is the best for latency and performance? You guys are the experts and any of your comments and opinions are appreciated.

I'm 99.99% sure those modes have no impact on latency.  They simply normalize the matirx mixer for 1:1 operation so you basically don't have to use TotalMix if you don't need it.

cool

MADIface-XT+ARC / 3x HDSP MADI / ADI648

Sounds good Randyman...I could not really tell any difference myself. The HDSP is running at about 6.6 milliseconds round trip latency. This does not seem audible to me but I still have to not use to many VST plugins. The computer is not very powerful. But it does provide extra processing power in conjunction with my other PCs. And some of the FX VSTs far surpass any hardware I might be able to afford.
Mobius looper on one machine with modulated FX and delays on the HDSP machine synced with midi = awesomeness.
