Topic: Babyface gain meters
Hi there!
The page http://www.rme-audio.de/en/products/babyface.php states "A gain of up to 60 dB, adjustable in steps of 3 dB over a range of 51 dB", so I've tried to figure out the numbers behind those not-much-saying LED meters.
From top to bottom:
60 dB | 10th LED only (red)
57 dB | 10th + 9th LED
54 dB | 9th (orange)
51 dB | 9 + 8
48 dB | 8 (green)
45 dB | 8 + 7
42 dB | 7
39 dB | 7 + 6
36 dB | 6
33 dB | 6 + 5
30 dB | 5
27 dB | 5 + 4
24 dB | 4
21 dB | 4 + 3
18 dB | 3
15 dB | 3 + 2
12 dB | 2
9 dB | 2 + 1
6 dB | 1st LED only (green), which gives us the range of 54 instead of 51...
(+ orange phantom LED being the last)
Am I wrong?
I'd very much like to verify this. I mean the actual gain, its range is not that important.
