Topic: Fireface 800 Daisy Chain into Pro Tools 12 Problem. Can anybody help?

Hi All,

Daisy chain is working correctly in Pro Tools 12 as long as I have set it in the the Fireface 800 device settings window to only use the 1-8 channels of each device. Pro tools receives audio from all 16 analog inputs, 1-8 from each device.

As soon as I have set it to allow all inputs in the the Fireface device settings window, Pro Tools no longer receives audio on any analog input from the second device but can receive audio from all 10 analog inputs from the first device.

What am I overlooking? I don't want to use any of the digital inputs from the Firewire, so if there is some pro tools limitation on input count, I would be happy to shut off the digital inputs so pro tools only has to work with the 20 analog inputs.

This is a Pro Tools limitation, only the first 32 I/O channels are available.

Thank you Jeff, I forgot to reply earlier.

Once I shut off the digital inputs, pro tools could then use all 20 of the analog inputs.
