Topic: MacBook Pro Late 2013 OS X 10.9.5 (13F1911) with Fireface 800

Hello,
I am getting mixed info from different online-forums regarding the compatibility of the Fireface 800 with a MacBook Pro Late 2013 OS X 10.9.5 (13F1911) and Ableton live 9.

Does anybody have experiences with this exact combination? I am aware that I need to use a firewire to thunderbolt adapter.

Do I need to take care to buy a relatively new(-ish) Fireface 800? Is there a specific driver that works best with this combination?

I can tell you that it works with a Macbook Pro early 2011 using either the Apple Thunderbolt-Firewire adapter or the built in Firewire port, both using Maverick and High Sierra.
