Topic: Fireface 800: Firewire 800 Ports dead, Firewire 400 Port works

Hi there.

My trustworthy Fireface 800 has stopped working via the 1394b-Ports.
1394a works perfect.

The connectors look fine.

I tried three different Cables and three Macs - always with the same result:
Fire face ----Firewire 800 Cable ----> Mac. Nothing.
Fireface ----Firewire 400 Cable ----> Lacie LittleBigDisk ----Firewire 800 Cable ----> Mac. Works!

What can I do to fix this?

Frequently in use:
Fireface UFX+, Fireface 800 (as a AD/DA-Converter) and an old RME Sweater... ;-)

Send in for repair. Usually the FW physical interface chip needs to be replaced.

I´ll send my Fireface in to get it fixed.
