Topic: Why is my FF400 behaving like this ??

Hey Guys,

I recently rebuilt a "new" XP DAW using all the same software as I had been using for 10 years.  With just two exceptions - Now using XP instead of W2K, and PCIe instead of PCI Firewire card (both are TI chipsets).  Anyway, never before had any problems, but now I find on the new DAW the FF400's rotary knob to have a bit of lag to it at times, and if I spin it fast enough the numbers will wrap right around instead of stopping at the min or max.  It does not do this in standalone mode.

I suspect some handshaking between the FF400 and DAW now has a higher latency than on my previous DAW, which is then tripping up the FF400 to some extent on the rotary knob.  But obviously this makes me wonder why, and what else could be going on, especially since this new system is much faster and more poweful than the previous one.

Any thoughts or theories ??
