Hello ,
I have the adi2pro ae on a sideboard. I have a digital player that I connected via AES (15 meters line). So far so good.

The problem:
Now I have this break out cable, along with chunky AES clutches on the sideboard.

Current solution: I have packed the breakout harness into a cable box.
I'm not satisfied with that.

My idea and question:
I would like to put the cable whip in another (invisible) place
Can I use this "extension cable"?

Hallo ,
ich habe den adi2pro ae auf einem Sideboard. Einen digitalen Zuspieler habe ich über AES (15 Meter Leitung) angeschlossen. Soweit so gut.

Das Problem:
Nun hab ich diese Kabelpeitsche, samt klobigen AES Kupplungen auf dem Sideboard liegen. 

Aktuelle Lösung: Ich habe den Breakoutkabelbaum in eine Kabelbox gepackt.
Bin damit aber nicht zufrieden.

Meine Idee und Frage:
Ich würde die Kabelpeitsche gerne an einem anderen (unsichtbaren) Ort legen
Kann ich dazu dieses "Verlängerungskabel" benutzen?

It's quite obvious that a 15 pin connector will not work on a 9-pin socket. I am not aware of a fully matching extension cable, but a straight 9 Pin D-sub extension for computers, with all pins connected, should work if it is not longer than 1 meter.

Oh, I see it now - 15 pins on the picture... I thougt it was a 9 pin seriel cabel.  Sorry.

Ok. 1 m max, 9 pin d-sub extension, fully connected

1 meter could be a bit short, but a try is worth it.

A short feedback:

I buy a serial extension Cable (original description:: Seriell RS232 Verlängerung Kabel DB9M Zum F 9 Polig Männlich Zum Weiblich 2 m Schwarz ), black color (because of AE - Edition) - works! Yes 2 meters, I risked that and it works on my setup :-)

The biggest risk when using such a cable is the SPDIF coaxial in and out not working correctly anymore, due to the low voltage/high frequency signal and unbalanced transmission. AES should indeed be fine.
