Topic: Firewire card compatability for Fireface 800

Hi, I am building a new PC to run cubase 9.5 and was wondering what firewire card/cards would be best to run Fireface 800. I am currently looking at purchasing a Startech 1394/800 card. Motherboard is Asus Prime Z370P. Processor is an intel i7 8700. I would appreciate any information.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Firewire card compatability for Fireface 800

Which OS Version ?

With Windows 8 / 10 you might need to follow these instructions to download the IEEE 1394 Firewire legacy driver.

Download @Microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel … s-8-1-or-w

If you choose Win7, then you can simply activate the Firewire Legacy Driver as described in the 1st URL.

I recommend to use a FW PCIe card with TI chip. Avoid cards with the TI XIO2200A FW chip, its buggy.

This card is proven to work: https://www.amazon.de/Exsys-15-06-2257- … op?ie=UTF8
