Topic: DIGIFACE USB - Headphones Output connect to Powered Studio Monitors

Hi RME

Is it ok to connect digiface USB headphone output to a Powered monitors (Yamaha HS5) via a Y cable (TRS out from heaphones to 2TS inputs of each yamaha speaker) ?

Any issues regarding mismatch ohms impedance?

Regards!

Re: DIGIFACE USB - Headphones Output connect to Powered Studio Monitors

Hi Nino,

as far as I remember / read in the forum it was always an option to use phones outputs to drive active speakers unbalanced.

I noticed in another thread of yours that you looked for best D/A conversion.

What you could also do regarding that is to use the ADI-2 Pro on top of your Digiface USB in a way like being described here:
https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ind … our-Setup/

By this you have reference quality AD/DA conversion and thus best D/A conversion for phones and speakers.
The remap key function of the ADI-2 Pro is very useful to be able to quickly change between listening through phones or speakers with a nice volume ramp-up of ~1sec when changing channels.

This solution you can expand as you like by using the other ADAT ports of the Digiface USB.
Its a very nice and compact setup.
