Hi!
I will be using the RME interface for HiFi only, and I`m not a musician. So far I have set up JRiver to "Stereo signal in 7.1 container", and copied left/right signals to the rest of the 8 channels. I get a signal from all 8 analog outputs of the RME Multiface interface. I use the JRiver WDM-driver, and the RME-ASIO driver. The plan is to setup crossovers and eq in JRiver, and use this when playing files in JRiver, and possibly also later with my Squeezebox.

The analog outputs of the RME is connected directly to 8 power amplifiers, and the power amplifiers are connected to two 4-way loudspeakers.

JRiver volume control is set to "Internal", and the faders in the TotalMix FX v. 1.5 Playback section move when I adjust volume in JRiver. So far so good, but What is the difference between adjusting the playback faders compared to the hardware faders? Should I set up fader groups?

I will soon get a RME UFX with the ARC, and I will probably use the ARC as a volume control. Is there a way to limit max volume when turning the knob of the ARC?
