Topic: Fireface Rotary Knob Volume Spike - Is there a TotalMix workaround ?

Hi,

The rotary encoder on my Fireface 400 is occasionally acting up and causing volume spikes that are going to eventually blow my monitors.  I was wondering if, rather than risk replacing the encoder I might instead be able to configure TotalMix in a way that acts as a volume limiter?

More specifically, is there a way to route a channel into another channel so I could set the output on the second channel to act as a volume limiter?  That way when I use the encoder to adjust the volume of the first channel if it happens to glitch to a loud value the second channel would act as a limiter so the max output would be limited to some lower setting thereby preventing damage to my monitors.

Can TotalMix be configured to achieve something like this ?

Thanks,

Sonic
