Topic: RME Babyface Pro Windows 1809

Hi

Today my pc upgraded to the new Windows 1809.

After the installation i noticed a static noise form the pc, see the soundcloud link: https://soundcloud.com/claudio-decurtin … en/s-snQPU

I reinstalled the latest driver, didn't resolve the problem.

Any suggestions?

I had the same noise, and I don't have an answer. But I got this noise when inserting some of my older USB WD passport drives, I use for photos, files..etc, from around 2010 ...etc, into a new windows 10 laptop from 2018. these drives  had been unused for past 2 years and worked fine on another laptop recently too, no noise, only this new laptop. This happened in late June. It had nothing to with my DAW or babyface, which I didn't have at this time. My fix was to SHIFT restart windows, which I wanted to do this anyways, to make sure a reset be successful. I haven't tried plugging in these drives to my new laptop since. And I have a USB hub, that I would use between my laptop, just to for the sake of keeping things more safe. I think in my case, this sound came out of my native laptop speakers. I'm planning to update soon, my Windows. That's wild how a windows update made this sound. Perhaps try removing and reinstalling any Anti-virus software you have.

I wonder if these settings may set something off, been reset, https://www.top-password.com/blog/set-w … eep-mode/, or the manufacturer of windows machine, Samsung, HP, Dell, I know my manuf. has it's own windows settings, and one of them is for USB charging. maybe toggle it on and off, with a reboot, or vice versa.

Windows 1809 is bogus and Microsoft pulled upgrade back.
Caused loss of files for users in certain cases.
Besides your issues I would downgrade.
