Topic: ADAT link with separate system

Hi, thanks for taking a look at my query...

I have just bought an RME fireface 800. I already have a Focusrite 18i20.

In my setup I run the 18i20 through my laptop and use Ableton as a DAW.

In my band setup my bandmate has a separate laptop on which he runs Mainstage. I have considerably more need for outputs than he does - 10 might be ok, but I a man running a click track and full mix through 9/10 into our ears.

Is it possible to send ADAT from my interface to his, for him to then send the audio out of one of his analog outputs?

This would solve some problems, but I can't find any info on this issue.

Thanks again if you can shed any light on this. If nobody knows I guess I'll just give it a go, but I currently don't have the right cable, and am yet to collect the fireface.

With the FF800, yes, as you can basically route any channel anywhere. With the other interfaces too, probably, but it's been a while since I used Focusrite's software, so I'm not certain.

Just try it?
