Topic: When switching tracks in foobar the TotalMixFX jumps up to red (OVR)

Hey. I own a Babyface Pro for about a year. I have a problem.
When I switch tracks in foobar (Asio output) with a different
sample rate (for example 44100 and 192000) in the Hardware Inputs
section in TotalMixFX, the scales jumps up to red (OVR).

Is this normal and if not, how can I fix it?

Video attached. Thanks!

Re: When switching tracks in foobar the TotalMixFX jumps up to red (OVR)

You asked this already in another thread (The official Babyface Pro Thread).
https://www.forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopi … 57#p136057

If you decided now to have a dedicated thread for your BBF Pro issue,
then please be so kind to delete the double post in the other thread
to prevent any potential double work, many thanks.

I copied this post to a standalone topic because nobody answered
me in the general topic. Already delete it.

Can you answer my question? Thanks!

Re: When switching tracks in foobar the TotalMixFX jumps up to red (OVR)

That's odd.  You can see the red saturation indicator but you don't see the actual signal jump that high.  Do you hear a loud very fast 'pop' when you do that?

BTW, nice Foobar theme.  Which one is it and where can I find it?  Thanks.

Yes, I hear some kind of click/crackle. But why this happening? What is the problem?

I don't know what is the theme. My friend gave me this foobar portable version.

Edit:

The input overload is a harmless sounding, low level click that is only heard when you route the inputs to the outputs. Changing from 192 kHz to 44.1 causes a complete reset of ADC and FPGA, which is the reason for the click signal and fully normal.

Re: When switching tracks in foobar the TotalMixFX jumps up to red (OVR)

So the problem is in the driver or in the BFP itself?
I have installed last driver 1.164 for Windows 7 x64.

This thing is pretty annoying and I would like to fix it.

Re: When switching tracks in foobar the TotalMixFX jumps up to red (OVR)

Hey, I realized that this problem has nothing to do with foobar or ASIO.
Even when no audio is played at all, if I change the sample rate in the Fireface USB Settings, the same thing happens.
And if sample rate set above 96000 Hz, in Hardware Inputs, instead of UFL, it shows some numbers and the scale moves a little.
It's like some signal goes in Hardware Inputs, but in fact there is no signal there.

Read my post 7 again.

Also it would help to read the manual, it's all in there: Chapter 26.6 Noise Level in DS / QS Mode.

Thank you! Got it.
