Topic: No input spdif and adat through Loopback FF800.

Hi RME users,

I have a strange issue where i cannot wrap my head around. When i setup Loopback on an output channel i don`t get input in my Fireface 800.

What i did was:
1) Chose an output channel i did not use. (SPDIF)
2) Turn on Loopback on the output
3) Cranked open the software playback AN1/2
4) Trigger a sound on software playback
5) open spdif input fader.

I don`t get any signal on the top row SPDIF input in Totalmix.

One RME Video tutorial states that:
"Notice that TotalMix will not show this signal on the input row. These meters always show signal present at the actual input."

i think what the tutorial sais is not entirely correct, i`ve seen a image from someone who did had signal from loopback on the top input row.

What i want to achieve:
I want to sample inside Samplerobot (auto-sampler) sounds from Cubase (software playback). I set the Audio input from Samplerobot to SPDIF (Fireface 800).

What i tried sofare:
1) Reset totalmix
2) tried to loopback an analog signal with no result.
3) Cubase is set to FIreface ASIO driver.
4) Using ADAT 1/2 or 3/4 instead of SPDIF
5) release ASIO driver in the background (Cubase)
6) Someone said i had to look at the Hammerfall DSP settings but i noticed i don`t have Hammerfall on the FF800?

My Driver version: 3.124
Hardware Revision: 2.77

Windows 10 x64 PC (No additional audio interfaces installed.)

Someone knows what i need to do to make it work?

Of course not, the signal goes to ASIO Input. Clearly explained in the manual (page 73).

If you have a signal visible in the SPDIF hardware output and activate Loopback it should be there at the SPDIF ASIO input. Maybe easier to check with DIGICheck Global Level Meter.

Re: No input spdif and adat through Loopback FF800.

Hi, thank you for your responds. I know its asio spdif (my bad).
Unfortunately after that change it did not solve it (yet), but i have figured it out!

Thanks

If you not give us the reason/solution I will delete this thread as it serves no purpose.
