Topic: babyface works, babyface pro doesn't (i.e. re flash update, total mix)

(pardon if the answer is already somewhere on this forum...)

the brief is that my Babyface activates Total Mix, the usb app, etc. but my (just acquired) Babyface Pro does not. (and I checked it on a few systems, and 2 osx's). Both do show up in system prefs.


Babyface Pro Issue:


System Specs:

Macbook Pro 2016 2.7 Ghz I7 16gb Ram

OSX 10.13.6 (also checked it on 10.12.x)

When I plug the Babyface in, the Fireface USB + Total Mix app activate and the Total Mix app opens a window. (normal operating process)

When I plug in the Babyface Pro in, nothing happens.

I downloaded the latest driver and also the flash update program to update the Babyface Pro (as it was just acquired). The flash update program does not proceed when the Babyface Pro is connected. However, it does proceed/activate when the Babyface is connected.

The Babyface Pro does show up in the system preferences (OSX) as a USB audio i/o device.

I have checked it on another macbook pro (running sierra) and a macbook air running high sierra) with the results.

Suggestions?

The device could be in Class Compliant mode (see manual for details), please hold Select and Dim while plugging it in to check/deactivate.
