Topic: Fireface 802 Mic Recording

Hi,

I have recently purchased a Fireface 802 and am very impressed, but I wondered if anyone could confirm if I have set things up correctly for my Fireface 802 & condensor mic recording.

I have connected my condensor mic (Aston Spirit) into my Pre-Amp (Warm Audio WA12), and then out from the Warm Audio WA12 to line input on rear of Fireface 802.

I have engaged the phantom power on the Warm Audio WA12.

Is this basically correct, or do i have to do anything else?

The reason for asking is i am trying to eliminate/identify problem that is causing recordings with the mic to drop in and out.

I've tried another  condensor mic on same input route and that works fine, i am awaiting a new cable to mic cable to test that with the aston spirit.  I'm hoping it's something silly i have done and not a problem with the mic.

Many Thanks in advance
Marc

Sounds good.

If another mic works with the same cable, then it's not the cable.
