Topic: Can't get Thunderbolt 3 --> TB 2--> FW800 --> FW400 chain to work

Hi there,

Just bought a new MacBook Pro.  (10.14 os)

Installed the RME drivers, and enabled them in the system prefs as explained in the helpful video.

I have adaptors that allow me to do a chain from
Thunderbolt 3 -->  TB 2
TB 2 -->  FW 800
FW 800 --> FW 400
Fireface 400   interface

Shouldn't this be working?  I see posts around the internet to the effect that it should be working.
But nothing, device won't even power on.

Anything else I should try, or check on?  Thank you.

You cannot use bus power on this chain, Thunderbolt does not support it. You will need to connect the DC power supply that came with the FF400.
