Topic: Babyface Pro - Standalone 1 second pulsing crackle

I have just received a new Babyface Pro this week - I opened it from sealed cellophane.
So I've read the manual through a couple of times now.
I have never seen the Babyface work in standalone mode.
It works on USB fine and Totalmix controls everything beautifully.
I have tried Class Compliant mode (CC) to an iPad and Totalmix FX couldn't see it, maybe its me. "UCX not found, demo mode only"
I am able to switch between CC and PC using the Select + Dim button combination
When I take out the USB cable then power off and insert power cable again both the orange and red LEDs on both input and output channels (ch 1/2 ch 3/4, i.e. not OPT) pulse about 1hz and a loud digital sounding crackle appears in time with that on the outputs.

Have I not done something? or do you think it is faulty?
I checked that the timing is set to "Internal" when I connect it back on the USB to my macbook and it is.

I love the sound quality and the product is great, its just this mode is not working for me yet.

You need an external power supply for that mode.

Re: Babyface Pro - Standalone 1 second pulsing crackle

Thanks for focusing on the likely culprit
I guess the 200mA 12V power supply that I am using is not the right spec.
I'll order an RME power supply then it should defo work and it has the bayonet fixing for secure connection.

200mA is too low.
