Topic: Volume on HDSP 9632

Good morning,
from some days I have changed the output path of the audio signal. Now I have HDSP 9632 ---> Behringer Mini-MON ---> Fosi Audio V1.0G (mini-amplifier) and passive speakers. By doing some tests I notice that, slowly raising the volume, I hear the sound coming out first from one speaker and then from the other ... Now I am still doing other tests, so I can't say for sure where this problem arises the cause). Now for information I have a HDSP 9632 I purchased it already used (second hand) with updated drivers in Windows 10 Home. Is it possible that some small electronic component has failed on the board to make the audio come out first from one speaker and then from the other? Has something similar happened to you already? Obviously I must also take into account probable malfunctions:
- Of the motherboard
- Of the Bios
- Of the operating system
- Of other computer hardware & software components

Thank you.

Connect Analog Out to Analog In on the card, check level meters of input while raising the fader in TotalMix...can't be more easy...

But is there no risk of creating loops and ruining something?

Re: Volume on HDSP 9632

You raise the output faders, not the input faders, so no audible monitoring.

Re: Volume on HDSP 9632

Thank you. So I connected the inputs with the outputs with Rca cable and I get this:

Trying to put the signal in mono (in the master OUT) I always hear the sound coming out first from the right channel and then from the left channel

There is no sound in the video (from Software Playback channels). And you did the wrong thing - you raised the input fader to create a potential feedback loop.

Re: Volume on HDSP 9632

So, I connect the DX and SX inputs with the DX and SX outputs and so far, right? Once this is done, do I have to output an audio signal from the computer? So okay like a simple mono sine wave? In the previous answer you wrote to me that I have to gradually raise the master OUT. Now did you write me that he has to raise the input to generate feedback? Sorry but I went into confusion.

I tried with a stereo audio signal ... I hope I did it right ... Thanks.

Re: Volume on HDSP 9632

In the video everything is working right so no problem with your card. The problem must come from further down the chain. So either the behringer, the amp or the cables. First try without the behringer.. Connect the card to the amp directly. If the issue goes away, you know it is not the amp or the used cables. Then swap cables. Still allright? Then you know it must be the behringer. BTW did you have the problem when adjusting gain in totalmix or on the behringer? If it was on the behringer, it is 100% sure the behringer (defective volume pot).

Re: Volume on HDSP 9632

Thank you very much, I tried to connect the outputs of the RME directly to the amplifier (excluding the Behringer) and I always hear the audio coming out first from one channel and then from the other ...
