Topic: RME 9632 - No sound output

Hi, I've got issues with sound output from the above card.

I've just built a new computer and I'm using the Startech PCIe --> PCI adapter.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 … &psc=1

It was all working perfectly, but due to another issue, whilst troubleshooting, I removed the card and adapter from the computer.

After putting it back, I now I have no sound at all.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, removing the card, clearing the CMOS, etc.

The strange thing is that is that windows audio shows sound output (the green bars) from the card. Total Mix also opened fine before, and now it shows "searching for host connections" when I open it.

I'm really stuck here...I know these adapters can be hit and miss but it was working fine this morning.

Any ideas!?

Thank you

That is not totalmix but totalmix remote! It tries to find rme gear on your networked computer, not local...
So try to find normal totalmix

Re: RME 9632 - No sound output

Hi Vinark

Good poin! But I still shouldn't need total mix to get sound output from my card?

As shown in the sound settings below that, I should have sound (the green bars)...but there's nothing!

Re: RME 9632 - No sound output

The website says that Totalmix should have been installed with the driver..but it's missing. I guess this is part of the problem.

Re: RME 9632 - No sound output

No not true. You can have that output selected and for example mute it in totalmix. So you do need to see totalmix. There in the middle row you will see the software playback which you then route to an output. If you did not do that in the past that was lucky. But most of the time a totalmix reset will give you  ok settings.

Re: RME 9632 - No sound output

Ok well I have no totalmix installed...no sound...but windows is telling me there is sound (the green bars are jumping in sound settings).

I'm pulling my hair out here. I've uninstalled and re-installed the drivers so many times now!

Where can I download total mix? Any other suggestions?

Re: RME 9632 - No sound output

Wow...I found it. Totalmix was disabled in windows startup...don't know how that happened. I enabled it and sound is back!:)

Re: RME 9632 - No sound output

Windows update can do that. But.....great job!
