Topic: Crackling/bit-crushed noise in playback and recording, UFX+

I posted a while back with my issue with crackling noises and bit-crushed sounds. It hasn't stopped, even though I updated Firmwire and Driver to the latest versions. No CRC errors are showing, either.

It is recorded to the file - it's not just randomly in playback.

Please help! I bought the UFX+ and thought it would be an upgrade to my Fireface 800, but so far I'm not impressed.

I was getting exactly that kind of noise on a high spec somputer with a UFXC, using Reaper with Vienna Ensemble Pro. Turning up the buffer samples on my UFX to the maximum helped but did not solve the problem.

The solution turned out to be some buffer settings I changed in Reaper, chiefly by trial and error.

Thank you for chiming in. I use Logic, and it doesn't have those exact settings available to change. hmm

I have sessions booked and this is hugely disappointing and stressful.
