Topic: TotalMix Flat Settings

Hi guys

I've just installed Totalmix for the first time with the Fireface UCX.

Can I confirm what settings I need to check to ensure the sound is flat with my monitors?

I'm using this soundcard for referencing and mixing down and just want to make sure the settings are totally flat if possible.

What are the best dBu settings to use on the hardware playback channels for monitoring?

Is there anything I need to be aware of.

I'm so sorry if this has been asked several times.

Thanks for the advice.

Re: TotalMix Flat Settings

Its flat if you do not use the EQ.

Use the reference level for outputs that -20dB is silent enough for normal operation.

If your monitors support volume knobs, then use them to trim down the volume so that you can go up to 0dB.

Your ears will tell you (when its too loud) whether to choose an output level of either: Hi Gain, +4 dBu, -10 dBV.
