Topic: FireFace 400 - Gain on input 1&2 is moving on its own

Hello,

I have a FireFace 400 running v3.35 on a late 2012 Mac Mini. When signal is present on inputs 1&2, the gain adjustment in Settings is randomly moving on its own. Always up, never down. When linked, the input gains move together. Still happens on both when not link, but by varying amounts. Gain swings can be as much as 20db.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Sure. You use a software that controls the mic, like Skype. See same controls in Audio MIDI Setup, Audio Device, Input.

Ah, so in this case we were streaming to Facebook Live. RME was set as input in System Settings on the Mini. So its possible that it was auto gain adjusting for the browser?
