Topic: RayDat Card - Can't Get Stereo Monitoring In Headphones

Hello all,

I'm using the HDSPe RayDat card with a brand new Focusrite Scarlett Octopre Dynamic, and Presonus Central Station for monitoring and playback.

The option on my DAW for SPDIF output is only monitoring sound to the left stereo channel on my monitors and headphones.   The track I am testing with is a mono track mixed into the stereo master of the DAW, which all shows stereo output, but when it hits total mix, and then my Central Station, it's only the left side I get sound on.   On playback the sound is in stereo, this is ONLY when monitoring I have this issue.

I am bewildered and I'm hoping this is an easy fix.   If you want to know, yes I do have "SPDIF Out" set to ADAT 4, and I am using a TOSLink cable from ADAT 4 to my central station.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

To add to the information, I've also now attempted using an SPDIF cable, with the same result.

If the issue already shows up in the software playback channels of Totalmix, it would likely be a configuration issue in your DAW....
Is that the case?

Unfortunately not, as the signal only turns into the Left channel when it hits total mix.
Also when playing back the recording, it plays in stereo with no issue.
This is only when monitoring through total mix, the DAW has absolutely no part in it.

I don't get it. Pan(orama) is dialed to left, so what is wrong here?

Thank you!  SPDIF was also somehow panned left, I never touch those knobs so I have no idea how that happened, but it's solved, and I thank you kindly!
