Topic: Wordclock Breakout Card Mounting Challenge

I am using the Sonnet Technologies xMac Mini Server setup. In order to use the wordclock card, they give you a mounting location inside the unit and instruct you to install BNC bulkhead connectors with short coax cables connecting the BNC bulkheads back to the wordclock card.

My question is: As opposed to going this route, can I just find a 10-pin ribbon cable that is longer than the one included from RME? This would allow me to mount the wordclock card in an unused slot, avoiding the use of the cabling and BNC connectors. Is there anything special about the ribbon cable?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Most probably you will have to buy the components and make the cable yourself. That said the cable length is not critical.
