Topic: HDSPe AES Revisions?

Hi All,

I have noticed that some HDSPe AES cards come with the indication "Rev. 1.0".

However, some others come without any indication in this respect.

1) How does this thing work?

2) How many revisions the HDSPe AES cards went through?

3) I suppose that the cards with no indication regarding revision are the oldest ... ?

Cheers

Re: HDSPe AES Revisions?

These hardware revision numbers are irrelevant in practice, all cards support all firmware updates and driver versions.

Re: HDSPe AES Revisions?

Hi Daniel, I just bought a second card and noticed that the PCB is a complete redesign.   It seems like a safe assumption that RME have improved upon the original tech over the 10+ year span between revs.

Do you know if there are any technical improvements on the new Rev 2 cards?  For example, it is very common for manufactures to find ways to improve PLL performance on digital interfaces over this amount of time.
