Topic: Fireface 400 in windows laptop problem

Hello everyone,I just acquired a second hand Fireface 400,

I'm connecting it to my windows laptop trough a firewire 400 to 800 cable, connected to a firewire to thunderbolt adapter, powered by a not original 12v power supply.

On a mac laptop everything is going smoothly, but on my windows one I'm having a problem as showed in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EXKFBF8ik8

The videos and audios I play seem slowed down, dragged.

I've looked everywhere for the solution, but I cannot seem to find it!

If anyone knows how to help, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance

Open the Settings dialog, you might see a lot of transmission errors. Your FW port is not working correctly. Search this forum for supported chipsets and necessary legacy FW drivers.

Re: Fireface 400 in windows laptop problem

While looking in settings i've found a number that is on the 6000... currently on growing

Also, I don't have a firewire port, but a thunderbolt one. While searching for the legacy drivers i didn't find anything conclusive.

Does this mean my TB port has no compatibility and i'll have to buy an external firewire chipset?

If so do you know how i can connect it to my laptop?

Thank you for answering
