Topic: Sync Fireface UFX+ with a Fireface 400

Hi there,

I'm about to buy a Fireface UFX+ after 10+ years of working with Fireface 400 and I would like to know if it's possible to connect and sync a Fireface UFX+ with a Fireface 400?
My goal is to obtain 20 I/O channels and maintain the UFC+ as the master.
WIll I be able to see all I/O channels in Totalmix?
How do the settings change?

Are there any tutorials, can you give me tips?

I'm using Ableton Live 9 on a iMac 2017

You could use the FF400 in standalone mode and route 8 analog channels via ADAT to the UFX+.
You need also an ADAT connection from UFX+ to the FF400 to transfer clock signal.
In such a setup its best to use the UFX+ as clock master.

Its the same like connecting a preamp via ADAT, the "usual thing".
Latency ? This is neither USB nor Firewire. This is even lower that converter latency which is even less than that.
