Topic: hdsp 9632, really weak output

Hello,

I bought a hdsp 9632 brand new, sadly after realising that i screwed buying a card with a legacy interface ie. PCI instead of PCIE, i had to order a pcie adapter which is a startech one. After i plugged it into my pc, the adapter somehow managed to kill my motherboard. Then i got my brother's pc, plugged it in it recognises it, drivers installed. TotalMix show's that there's is output, but cannot hear anything, but noticed on headphones output, there is a really weak signal could barely hear it but it is there, cranked the level's on my daw to as max as i could and can get a low signal, but clearly very distorted. Any suggestion's of what could cause it to not be able to output a strong signal, could it be damaged beacuse of maybe a short when my pc died?

At this point i am desperate to try anything, since this upgrade or so i thought, cost me a lot.

I've also read topic's from people haveing succses with the startech pci to pcie adapter, not the case for me.

Is the startech power cable connected to the psu?

There is output signal, when i am switching phone levels i hear the clicks. I also got the adapter for xlr output from the mail today.
The 4 pin connector form psu is connected to it and and the optical light's up. So i just can't figure out what's causeing it to not output any sound. Maybe the card is defective or maybe i killed it?
