Topic: Babyface Pro Mic Pre 1 sounding vastly different than Mic Pre 2

My Babyface Pro's first Mic Preamp is sounding dull, hissy, and with considerably less gain about 10db) than the second Mic Preamp.

This is the case with the same settings on each channel; gain, DSP EQ, HPF, and Reverb and Delay naturally disabled, same monitoring, same microphone, same cable.

This change was not gradual but sudden.

I'm on the latest firmware v127 and driver v3.19. My OS is Mac OS Mojave using a 2018 Macbook Pro. The Babyface Pro is running directly from the USB-C port with the Macbook Pro power cable inserted.

The problem persists regardless of DAW and audible as well as visible in Totalmix.

Maybe there is an easy fix? Anyone else had this happen? Search yielded nothing with the strings I used.

Any help is appreciated.

Problem solved.

In case anyone else has the same problem, here is what I did.

I wondered if the pad may be engaged without Totalmix showing it.

So I disabled and enabled the pad on both preamps a few times. The Babyface Pro itself clicks every time you do. And now the problem is gone.

I don't know why Totalmix showed the pad as disabled on both preamp channels when the pad on channel one was engaged.
