Topic: RME Fireface UFX II not recognized by windows as desktop sound

Hey guys,

I am running a RME Fireface UFX II with the latest driver and flash update and I want to use it as sound source in OBS for livestreaming but it is not recognized by windows for any kind of desktop sound. When you go in the Windows sound settings it's not listed there.

ASIO works all fine with recording software.

Any help on this ?

Re: RME Fireface UFX II not recognized by windows as desktop sound

Create windows compatible WDM devices in the RME driver settings.
Best only for those ports that you require for Windows applications.
There in driver settings -> WDM -> there is a 2nd TAB called "Speaker".
Select the I/O port which has your speakers connected.
Once you do this you get in the usual Windows Sound Settings a speaker symbol for your monitors presented.
There in the Windows Sound Settings you select this as default sound device.
