Hi, I can reproduce this. Fireface UFX w/ Ferrofish synced with WC/Adat. When I load a snapshot with a different sample rate, a deafening cracking sound occurs. It does not make a difference if Ferrofish is on or off.
For what it's worth, I also experienced similar but CONSTANT noise one, without any computer connected, generated by UFX by itself, no one even being near the thing.
Os X 10.15.7
UFX SW version 1.63
Disable Echo and Reverb and try again.
What computer is it ? win 10 ?
Where do you change sample rate ? At the Ferrofish ? Or in the Fireface USB settings ? Or in the DAW ?
From witch rate to what ? From 44,1 kHz to 192 kHz ?
Can you monitor this explosion in Digicheck ?
Is it visible in Totalmix ? Where ? Main out ? All input channel at once ?
Is the constant noise visible ?
I can't test it. I lost ALL output now. Internal speakers work ok. The Genelecs have sound The meters on UFX work fine, but no output from UFX. Looks like I lost both ADAT and WC sync. Ferrofish just shows "No lock" Rebooting everything does not help.

I got the sync working, somehow it was on ADAT 1. Now on internal sync, still no sound.
What computer is it ? win 10 ?

Looks like Digicheck is only 32-bit software. I have ripped out 32-bit from my operating system.
Is it visible in Totalmix ? Where ? Main out ? All input channel at once ?
Everything LOOKS ok in Totalmix, I believe the DAC got fried or something.
Is the constant noise visible ?

All of the analog outs ?
And without all other devices ?
Only Macbook and UFX.
Stay at 44,1kHz.

This unit must be broken. Different results each time it is powered on. Sometimes huge noise just by turning it on. Etc.
Edit: My Power Supply is faulty. C16 badly swollen

What do you mean with swollen power supply ?
it is blowing up its shape like a frog ?

I would take out the UFX of the rack and look for packing.
Contact RME support for repair request.
This is out of frame what a user-forum can help.
