Topic: Fireface UC stopped working on Macbook Air (m1)

I followed the install instructions and have had the Fireface UC working fine for a few weeks.

Today, when I connected the UC, the Fireface USB settings app and TotalMix did not start up as normal.
If I try to start Fireface USB settings it immediately crashes without error or warning. 
I have tried to run it from terminal and there were no error messages there either.
The red host warning light goes off on the UV when connecting USB and it appears as a device under System Preferences -> sound but it doesn't work if I select it.
I'm on MacOS 11.0.1 (20B29)

I've tried a re-install twice but no luck - Any clues as to how to fix this?

That means you have sound ?
You can listen music out of it's headphone out ?
Or from its analog main out ?
And when you click the device in the system preferences then the sound goes off ?
You don't have access to another computer for testing ?
I would say from feeling the USB connection is broke in the UC.
How is the other USB port on the Macbook ? Same problem ?
Can you connect the UC to external power supply ? I think it already is, as the UC is not a bus powered unit.

Ok I fixed it.
It was a good suggestion to try another computer.
That not working led me to discover I had somehow put the UC into PC mode.
I fixed by double tapping the encoder so that it didn't display "PC". Phew smile
