Topic: UFX with UC as a slave device

Is it possible -  and if so, how is it done - to have a UFX (the discontinued model) connected to a PC and use a UC as a slave? Before anyone recommends I consider the OctoMic, I prefer the UC because it's $400 cheaper, has all the IO I require and has mic connectors and an additional headphone connector on the front.

Re: UFX with UC as a slave device

The UC must get connection to a computer with USB.
The correct driver must be installed on the computer and the UC should get the newest firmware flashed, just as a routine preparation.
Then in the USB Fireface Settings window you have to set clock-mode to external adat (slave).
Then open Totalmix and do a doubleclick on every fader in the bottom row of channels, open all output channels.
Let's hope those configurations get stored in the UC (like it would in the Fireface 400).
In the UFX Settings window the clock.setting should be internal (master).
Then you can disconnect the UC from the computer and connect two adat toslink cables to the UFX.
From a out to a In.
Thats it. The Totalmix of the UFX has those adat output channels ready for you to send sound that should come out of the UCs outputs.
I hope it works.
