Topic: ADI2-DAC - How to know if it's the latest with AK4493 chip

Hey guys,

I bought my unit just at the end of February from a reputable shop here in Sydney.

I now read around that there is an older version and a newer with AK4493 chip.

Is there any way to check what version is mine?

Cheers!

Only the latest DAC offers ALL DA-filters:
Sharp/SD Sharp,  Slow/SD Slow, NOS, SD Low Dispersion.

Hi Damascato,

see this sticky article for an overview of the ADI-2 DAC / Pro devices in order of appearance and their differences:
https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.ph … 06#p165706

If you are not yet familiar with the operation of your new device, here is how to find this out, e.g. for "Main Out 1/2":
I/O -> Main Out 1/2 -> Settings -> DA Filter -> SD LD

Hint: while you are at it, you can check the current filter settings for all ports by turning Encoder 1 "B".

More verbose instructions:
  Press Button I/O
Turn Encoder 1 "B" until you see "Main Output 1/2" in the 1st line of the display (green background)
Turn Encoder 2 "T" until you see "Settings" in the 2nd line of the display (grey background)
Push Encoder 2 to scroll down on this menue page until you are on the entry "D/A Filter"
[ push Encoder 1 to scroll up, if you missed the enty ]
At the entry "D/A" Filter turn Encoder 2 clock-wise to the last entry which should be "SD LD".

For more information about the D/A filter "SD LD", see manual p. 83.
