Topic: ADI-2 DAC FS & BBF PRO FS combined (no problem)

Hello,

I recently got adi-2 dac fs and really enjoying the quality of it. Now I had a thought that I could go from babyface optical out -> adi-2 dac fs optical in, and get the full adi-2 quality with babyface inputs/outputs, but it´s more like babyface quality which is worse in every way.

Any solution for this or am I doing something wrong? I can use the Babyface inputs in DAW and listen with the ADI-2 as output without problem, but then I can´t use the babyface outputs. Of course I could always switch my device to babyface always when I want to use the outputs, but it´s not as convenient and then I can´t hear any audio, expect if I connect additional headphones to babyface.

Possible without problems.
BBF Pro is connected to the PC via USB.
In TM FX assign the ADAT output as Main out.
Clock Master BBF Pro.
Clock Slave ADI-2 DAC (gets clock via ADAT input).
And the whole thing is ready.

The ADI-2 DAC gets the audio signal via optical SPDIF, via the optical link you even have a galvanic isolation of both devices. And the ADI-2 DAC will refresh the clock signal, eliminate any jitter via ADAT/SPDIF and do the D/A conversion with its own FS lock.

If you notice any sound differences, it's probably due to different volume levels when listening.

With the Bit Test you can check yourself that the data arrives lossless / bit perfect until just before the ADI-2 Pro.

Yeah thanks for the reply, it actually works like it should now when I tried again. Don't know how I managed to hear degraded quality before. Could have been just that I was a bit in a rush.

But very great! And even though Babyface Pro FS is very good quality as well and great value for money, the ADI-2 DAC FS takes the output to totally another level.

BTW using same setup 2 times here.
In the living room I have a recording corner and a HiFi ..
PC for Work, Gaming, Recording with UFX+ connected.
Two ADI-2 Pro's connected to UFX+ (AES and ADAT) doing an excellent job for studio / HiFi corner.
