Topic: UFXII Mic input 12 noise

Hi all,
Just wondering if any one can shed some light on what might be wrong with one of the inputs on my UFXII.
Mic input 12 which I use with a Lav mic for talkback, just started making what sounds like pink noise.

With the input gain set to 41.0 and phantom power turned on or off, the meter is up to -28dB (with the noise).

I did change the Lav (to a Rode Smart Lav+) and this is when it started. But changing back to the previous one I was using (AKGC577), doesn't fix it.

In the meantime, I have changed my T/B channel to Mic11 and kept with the AKG.

Any ideas folks ??

That sounds like the analog input stage is defective. But should be reparable. Can be opamp, gain control or protection elements that fail.

I've contacted Lance at Innovative in Melbourne.
Luckily I have a spare that I can use in the meantime.
