Hello
I want to record the phone preamp output on file, using an ADI2PRO.
I use a 64 bit W10 JRiver 28 as DAW and I tried to use mrecordier, a free-of-charge VST plug which does not work well ...
- question 1: can somebody recommend a 64bit cheap or free VST plugin for recording?
I then tried Audacity and I can record using Analog (1+2) RME ADI2 PRO recording device (Audacity does not support ASIO for licensing issue). Sampling frequency cannot be greater than 48 KHz in audacity but RME can sample at greater FS (actually it is set to 96KHz): how does all of this work? Did anybody use Audacy +ADI2PRO for recording and suggest me a safe setting?

I see no issue recording up to 384khz in audacity on Mac. Not sure about Windows.

you need to

1. set project sample rate to the one you want.
2. set sample rate in the settings' quality menu to the same as 1.
3. set the sound card (adi-2)'s sample rate the same as 1.

then you should be good!

to your question, if your recording/project frequencies do not match, a resampler will be used.

maybe you are using an old version of audacity?

Thank, I am using the latest audacity 3.03/2
the issue I have is that I cannot se the ' selection toolbar '  where I can set the sampling frequency according to the manual.
I checked View > Tollbars > selection toolbars though ...
