Topic: guit - preamp - babyface

Running guitar to a preamp into babyface fs through the balanced connectors in back.    I can't seem to get the clean (no effects) sound of the guitar out of the mix I hear in the head phones (or monitors) .   So even with super "altered" sound I still hear the clean sound mixed in with whatever fx I am using via scuffham  . . . which is disturbing.   Any suggestions?

Re: guit - preamp - babyface

You need to look at two things:
1. your routing in tmfx, to see if your direct input is routed to your hardware outputs, and
2. In your DAW make sure you are monitoring post fx on the channel that you are working with.

I'm not familiar with scuffham but if theres any kind of wet/dry knob on the output of that plugin you will also want that set all the way to wet.

Hope this helps!

Re: guit - preamp - babyface

My guess: likely something not correctly routed in Total Mix. Possibly reset everything and start from there.
I also use S-Gear, but plug the guitar directly into the Babyface Pro FS. This works as expected. When I want to use VST plugins for playing I use Cantabile to host S-Gear and the plugins.
