Topic: 12mic to UCX/Babyface Pro Aggregate

I assume this is totally fine, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

I just got a 12mic. I don't quite have the cash for a UFX+ yet. I have the 12mic hooked up via ADAT to my UCX and Babyface Pro, which are an Aggregate device on macOS Big Sur. This all works great, as expected. I am getting 8 in via ADAT on the UCX and 4 on the BabyFace. The 12mic is master clock clocking both interfaces over ADAT. It sounds great, though I am just moving one mic around the setup to test things for now.

My only concern is the Aggregate Device in Audio MIDI Setup lists a "Clock Source". The only choices are the BabyFace and the UCX, though as I said above, the 12mic is the clock source. Could this result in any problems? Is there anything I am missing? If not, it is pretty great that I can do a 32 channel recording with this setup using my still killin 10 year old UCX.

Thanks,

Sam

No worry, all is fine.
The devices with a AD/DA converter must be synced to ones clock, can be any of the three in this set.
Well done, have fun !
