Topic: driver_usb_mac_3221 kills Avid HD driver
Installation of this driver on a
Mac Pro 3,2 GHz 16‑Core Intel Xeon W
macOS Big Sur 11.5.2
Pro Tools Ultimate 2021.7
Avid HD Driver 22.214.171.124
(in order to add a (Vanilla) Babyface to the setup)
went absolutely smooth at first, but
caused the Avid Driver to 'disappear' from the kext list and become fully dysfunctional!
The only remedy to get our main(studio) system back running was to completely remove the RME driver. Only then it was possible again to re-install the Avid HD driver.
Of course we are wondering what it was the 3221 did to the system, and if it will not coexist with an Avid system.
